Storage
Storage pricing below reflects general availability pricing.
Data Storage and Snapshots
Data storage service is charged at the rate of Azure Premium Storage i.e. ¥906.29/1TB/month (¥1.22/1TB/hour). Data storage service covers data warehouse storage and 7 days of incremental snapshot storage.
Note: Storage transactions are free of charge. In other words, you only need to pay for the data storage service, and no transaction fees are needed.
Geo-Redundant Disaster Recovery
Data warehouse can be copied into Geo-Redundant Storage (GRS) for disaster recovery. Storage for Geo-Redundant copies will be charged based on the rate of the Azure standard disk RA-GRS rate of ¥1.056/GB/month.
FAQ
Expand all-
When I create a data warehouse, am I charged immediately?
Yes, once the data warehouse is created, you will be billed hourly for compute and storage. Compute is billed at ¥ 5,989.2/100 DWUs/month, unless the data warehouse is paused. Storage is billed at ¥906.29/1 TB/month.
-
When I pause my data warehouse, what am I charged for?
ausing the data warehouse pauses compute. If your data warehouse was paused for the entire hour, you will not be charged compute during that hour. If your data warehouse was active and then changed to pause during the hour, then you will be charged for that hour of compute. When your data warehouse is paused, you will be charged for storage that includes data warehouse files, 7-days' worth of incremental backups, and geo redundant copy, if opted in. To learn more, please refer to the documentation .
-
How are compute and data storage billed?
Compute and storage are billed separately to make it easier for you to see the level of compute resources consumed. Compute usage is charged on an hourly basis. For example, if your data warehouse is active for 12 hours in a month, you will only be billed for the 12 hours that your data warehouse existed. If your data warehouse exists for only 30 minutes in a month, you will be billed for 1 hour.
-
What does my data storage bill look like?
Your data storage charge is inclusive of the size of your primary database, plus 7 days of incremental snapshots. Charges are rounded to the nearest TB. For example, if your data warehouse is 1.5 TB and you have 100 GB of snapshots, you will be billed for 2 TB of data at a rate of ¥906.29/1 TB/month.
-
What do I do if I need more than 1 TB of storage?
Storage is sold in 1 TB allocations. If you grow beyond 1 TB of storage, your storage account will automatically grow to 2 TBs.
-
Can I opt-out of snapshots?
You cannot opt out of snapshots, as this capability provides your data warehouse with data loss and corruption protection.
-
What does my storage bill look like if I opt into geo-redundant disaster recovery?
Your data warehouse is copied to geo-redundant storage for disaster recovery. Storage for geo-redundant copies is billed at Azure Standard Disk read-access geo-redundant storage of ¥1.056/GB/month.
